Chana daal Masala instructions

  1. Roughly chop the tomatoes..

  4. Pressure cook chana dal for about 7-8 whistles so that it gets boil to 90%..

  5. Heat oil in pan and add jeera, tej patta..

  6. Keep the pan at medium flame and add red chilli powder and instantly add puree in the pan and mix well..

  7. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala and mix well..

  8. Cook the masala on medium flame untill it starts leaving oil from sides..

  9. Rinse out the boil chana dal from the water..

  10. When the masala is cooked, add daal and 2 cups of water.

  11. Add salt to taste and let it boil on medium flame by covering with the lid so that all masalas are absorbed by daal and mix well for about at least 15 min..

  12. If you feel water is less add more according to your requirement..
