Ingredients of Moong Dal cheela

  1. Prepare 1 bowl of Green moong dal split.

  2. Prepare 2 tbsp of Beasn (Gram flour).

  3. It’s 1 of onion grated.

  4. You need 1 tsp of grated ginger.

  5. It’s 1 tsp of Fennel seed.

  6. Prepare 1 of green chilli finely chopped.

  7. It’s to taste of Salt.

  8. You need as needed of Oil for roasting.

  9. Prepare to taste of Red chilli powder.

  10. You need 1 tbsp of Finely chopped fresh coriander.

  11. It’s as needed of Water for mixing.

  12. Prepare of Cheela stuffing.

  13. Prepare 150 gm of Crumbled paneer.

  14. Prepare 1/2 bowl of frozen pea.

  15. It’s 1 of Green chilli finely chopped.

  16. Prepare 1/4 tsp of Grated ginger.

  17. Prepare 1/4 tsp of Cumin seed.

  18. It’s to taste of Salt.

  19. Prepare to taste of Red chilli powder.

  20. You need as needed of Oil for frying.

Cheela is like a dosa, mostly found in northern part of India.

Moong Dal cheela step by step

  1. Chills Stuffing Method :- Heat the pan and add little oil.Add cumin seed allow it to splutter… add green chilli and green pea saute till become soft.. now add frozen peas, paneer,, red chilli powder, ginger and some salt, mix well… lastly, add the chopped coriander leaves and keep it aside to fill in the chillas….

  2. CHILLA METHOD:- 1-Soak green moong dal chilka overnight in water….

  3. 2-Next morning, drain the water and grind it in a mixer with ginger, and a pinch of hing, funnel seed…grind to medium smooth batter adding a little water… let it be little coarse..

  4. 3-Transfer to a bowl.. dont make the batter too runny, it's consistency should be around dosa batter….

  5. 4-Add some ajwain, chopped green chillies, coriander leaves, onion, besan and red chilli powder and some salt into the batter… and mix well… now the batter is ready to make the chillas….

  6. 5- heat the nonstick pan and add little oil….

  7. 6- take a big spoonful of batter on tawa and spread it like dosa…when one side of chilla is cooked, grease the other side of the chilla with some oil and flip it..

  8. 7- while the other side is also cooked… Flip again.. add 2tb spoons of veg stuffing at the middle of the chilla and fold it in half….

  9. 8- Now moong dal chilla is ready to be served…serve hot with green chutney…
