Easiest Way to Cook Tasty Futomaki or Ehomaki California Rolls Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Futomaki or Ehomaki California Rolls. Futomaki or Maki Sushi is a traditional thick and fat sushi roll typically filled with vegetables and When I ask people what's their favorite sushi, the answers I often get are some types of sushi rolls, like Dragon Roll, California Roll, or What is Ehomaki? Ehō-maki (恵方巻) is eaten uncut, like a burrito. This is my first Youtube video.

I made this along with salad rolls for the Setsubun festival.

This recipe uses plenty of avocado, mayonnaise, and thick egg omelet slices.

Use a generous amount of avocado mayonnaise in your roll.

You can cook Futomaki or Ehomaki California Rolls using 13 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you achieve it.

Ingredients of Futomaki or Ehomaki California Rolls

  1. It’s 2 of Eggs.

  2. You need 1 of and 1/2 tablespoon ●Mirin.

  3. You need 1 tsp of ●Bonito dashi granules.

  4. You need 1/2 of Avocado.

  5. It’s 2 tbsp of □Mayonnaise.

  6. It’s 2 tsp of □Grated cheese.

  7. You need 6 of pieces Shrimp (frozen prawns this time).

  8. Prepare 3 of Imitation crab sticks.

  9. Prepare 2 of thinly cut sticks Cucumber.

  10. You need 1 of Radish sprouts.

  11. It’s 2 of rice bowls Sushi rice (seasoned with 20 ml vinegar and 2 teaspoons sugar).

  12. Prepare 1 of sheet Nori seaweed.

  13. Prepare 1 of White sesame seeds.

Ehomaki. (Good Luck Roll, Lucky Sushi, Eho-maki, 恵方, Ehōmaki ).

Also known as the lucky direction sushi, ehomaki is a sushi roll consisting of nori seaweed, vinegared rice, and seven different fillings, each representing one god of fortune.

Maki sushi or Maki zushi (pronounced as mah-kee-zoo-shee) as it is called in Japanese, is one of my favorites when it comes to oriental cuisine.

I did some research on how it got its name and found two interesting concepts that I would like to share with you.

Futomaki or Ehomaki California Rolls instructions

  1. Step 1: This is the filling used for the futomaki (the ingredient on the bottom right wasnt used). To prepare a Japanese-style omelet, mix the ● ingredients with egg and frying it up slowly on a shallow frying pan. Cut into thin slices..

  2. For the avocado mayonnaise, mash the avocado and mix the □ ingredients together. Boil the shrimp and cut into small pieces..

  3. Step 2: Lay plastic wrap on a cutting board and a sheet of seaweed. Place rice all over the seaweed. Get another sheet of plastic wrap, big enough to hold seaweed ready..

  4. Take the seaweed with rice from Step 2 and flip it over onto the prepared plastic wrap. The rice will end up on the bottom. The seaweed will be on top (like in the picture below)..

  5. Step 3: As seen in the picture; place the egg omelet, shrimp, imitation crab, cucumbers, radish sprouts and avocado mayonnaise on top of the seaweed..

  6. Step 4: Lets head onto the rolling stage. Tuck and curl up the ingredients and hold it tight. Then let the futomaki roll itself into shape. Finally, sprinkle on white sesame seeds..

Futomaki is a type of rolled sushi that is known for its large size and careful balance of ingredients.

People who think of sushi as just raw fish are often very surprised by the care and artistry that goes into these rolls.

They are usually filled with different colored vegetables and may not even contain fish at all.
