Easiest Way to Make Appetizing Onam Sadhya -Inchikari Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Onam Sadhya -Inchikari. The Onam celebrations are incomplete without the traditional lunch or the elaborate Onam sadhya. In this collection I have shared recipes that are made for onam sadhya. I will be adding more recipes eventually and will also update this collection post.

Ingredients of Onam Sadhya -Inchikari

  1. It’s 1/4 cup of Ginger cleaned and cut to pieces.

  2. It’s 4 tbsps of Onions chopped.

  3. Prepare 1 tsps of garlic.

  4. It’s 2 tbsps of coconut sliced to small pieces.

  5. It’s 2 tbsps of chillie powder(moderately hot).

  6. You need 3 tbsps of oil.

  7. You need 1 tsp of mustard seeds.

  8. It’s one tbsp of tamarind extract(valan puli.

  9. Prepare 2 sprigs of curry leaves.

Onam (Kerala Thiruonam Sadya Menu) - Onam is a festival celebrated by the Malayalees on the first month of kolla varsham, chingam.

The Onam Sadhya here is a meal to surely look forward to.

Sadhya (Malayalam: സദ്യ) is a feast of Kerala origin and of importance to all Malayalis, consisting of a variety of traditional vegetarian dishes usually served on a banana leaf in Kerala as lunch.

Onam Sadhya -Inchikari instructions

  1. Saute the ginger,garlic and half the onions in 3 tbsps of oil. When dried up and it has turned brown and half fried,add the chillie powder,take out from fire,cool and grind to a soft paste adding water if required..

  2. Now heat one tbsp of oil in a pan. Splutter the mustard seed. Add the coconut sliced to very small pieces.When it is slightly brown,add one tbsp of onions,curry leaves and when the onions turn brown and crispy,add one tbsp of the tamarind extract (depending on the thickness of the syrup)followed by the ginger-chillie gravy, already prepared.
