Tamarind rasam also called as chintapandu rasam or daniyalu rasam in telugu.

Ingredients of Raw tamarind Dal rasam

Prepare of raw tamarind pulp.

It’s of Green chillies.

You need of Roasted and grinded coriander, cumin, fenugreek powder.

It’s of onion.

Prepare of carrots.

It’s of sliced bottle gaurd cubes.

It’s of boiled toor dal.

It’s of curry leaves.

Prepare of coriander leaves.

You can serve this tamarind rasam with rice.
This rasam is not heated and rather prepared directly with squeezed tamarind water, sliced onions, roasted green chilli, fresh coriander leaves.
Add the tamarind water, coriander leaves, jaggery, onions and check for salt.
Balance out the flavor by adding little jaggery if it is too tangy.
Raw tamarind Dal rasam step by step

Boil raw tamarind..

Pressure Cook 1 cup of toor Dal..

Slice onions, vegetables, curry leaves, garlic, green chilli..

Grind toor dal..

Take a pan and keep it on the stove. Pour oil, add mustard and cumin seeds. Once the mustard and cumin seeds crackle add garlic, once the garlic becomes brown add onions, curry leaves, chilli. Roast it until the onion half cooked, add salt and turmeric, add vegetables. Close it with a lid and keep the stove in low flame. Open the lid and mix in between. Once the vegetable cooked properly add roasted and ground coriander, cumin and fenugreek powder into and mix it well..

Squeeze the water from tamarind..

Take out the water from the tamarind and the water into the vegetables. Boil it..

And then add grinded Dal into water. Add water. Boil it, add coriander leaves..

Take it into a bowl and serve hot with rice..
