The method to make dahi bhalla is same as preparing Dahi vada. in dahi bhalle, papdis (fried flour crispies), boiled potato cubes & cooked chickpeas are added which are not added in dahi vada. I make dahi vada or dahi bhalla usually during festive occasions like Diwali or Holi or when we have a get together at home. Dahi Bhalle is a sumptuous dish, made with curd and some easily available spices and veggies.

  2. You need 1/2 tsp of salt.

  7. Prepare 1 of tomato chopped.

  8. It’s of Imli ki chutney as required.

  9. It’s of Green chutney as required.

Dahi bhalay step by step

  1. Take a bowl add water and salt in it and soak baray in it for 15 to 20 minutes,then drain water from them by putting one bara on plam aur press softly with other hand.

  2. Similarly in another bowl soak phulki for 15 minutes,then squeeze water from it.

  3. Add salt in yoghurt and beat it,if you like then you can also add sugar.

  4. Chop onion and tomato.

  5. Now take serving bowl make first layer of baray,pour yoghurt on it.

  6. Add green chutney and imli ki chutney.

  7. Then make second layer of phulki,add remaining yoghurt.

  8. Add green chutney and imli ki chutney,also chopped onion and tomato.

  9. And on the top roughly crush papri and spread on the bowl.

  10. Yumilicous Dahi baray is ready.

At the time of serving, green chutney and sweet chutney are spooned over them followed by a generous sprinkling of roasted cumin powder, red chili powder, chaat masala, black salt, sev, coriander leaves and finally finished with off.

Dahi Bhalla or Dahi Bhalle is similar to Dahi/thayir vada.
