In this recipe, fresh paneer and other assorted veggies are marinated in a spicy sauce and later grilled in a tandoor or a pan.

A complete meal in itself, Paneer Shashlik Sizzler is going to be my go-to lunch on weekends.

Shashlik is usually skewered meat which is marinated and grilled.

  43. Prepare 2 tbsp of ginger garlic paste.

  45. Prepare 2 cup of tomato purée.

  46. It’s 2 tbsp of cashew powder.

  47. You need 2 tsp of red chilli powder.

  48. You need 1 tsp of sugar.

  49. Prepare 1 tsp of garam masala.

  50. You need 1/2 tsp of kashthuri methi.

  51. You need 2 tsp of cream.

  52. Prepare 1 tsp of coriander.

Here we are using Paneer aka Cottage Cheese.

Cottage cheese or Paneer is marinated and grilled along with boiled vegetables.

Mix them well. - In order to avoid the sizzler assembly burning, place cabbage leaves over the sizzler plate and one by one start assembling the items.

Paneer Shashlik is a slightly lesser known paneer starter that's usually served on a sizzler plate on skewers.

Veg Paneer Shashlik Sizzler instructions

  1. First mix all ingredients for grill. Skew the vegetables and paneer using a bamboo skewer.

  2. Let is marinate for 30 minutes then grill it.

  3. For stuffed (white sauce)capsicum : Add 1 tbsp butter to heated pan.

  4. Add 1 tbsp refined flour and roast it a bit. Then add 1 cup milk, 1/4 cup grated cheese, salt to taste, 1/4 black pepper.

  5. Make a thick sauce. Then add 1 cup corn and mix well.

  6. Cut a bell pepper equally from the center (like cups) then stuffed the bell peppers with white sauce and grill it..

  7. For herb rice: Add 3 tbsp butter in a heated pan. Then add 1 tsp mix herbs. Add 1/4 cup coriander- parsley mixed. Add 1/4 tsp black pepper. Put 2 cups cooked basmati rice and mix well..

  8. For sautéed vegetables: Add 1 tsp butter in heated pan. Add 1 tsp chopped garlic. Add carrots, broccoli & bell pepper. Add black pepper, mix herbs, sugar & red chilli flakes and salt. Sauté well and then add 1 tsp lemon juice..

  9. For red makhani gravy: Add butter in heated pan. Add ginger garlic paste and green chilli and sauté them. Add 2 cup tomato purée and cashew powder and sauté it. Add red chilli powder, sugar, garam masala, kasthuri methi and salt to it and mix well. Let it cook then add 2 tsp cream to it. Sprinkle some coriander and let it cook for 2 minutes..

  10. For sizzler: Set a sizzler plate on heat. Place cabbage leaves to fill the plate. Add a bowl of herb rice in the centre. Add the sautéed vegetables to one side. On the other side place 1 stuffed capsicum and some potato wedges. On the top of the rice place the paneer shashlik and pour the red makhani gravy all over..

  11. Sizzler is ready. Serve it..

I have tasted Paneer Shashlik sizzlers many times but never attempted to make it at home until my brother happened to sign me up for a cooking demo by "big chef Naushad".

This is a crowd pleaser and can be made when you have your relatives at home.
